I can assure you that even though it's Easter, I have not fallen off the wagon. I did allow myself one tiny Easter egg yesterday, but aside from that no chocolate has passed my lips. I did, however, return to form on the scales this morning.
Start weight: 178.8 kg (394.2 lbs)
Last week's weight: 157.4 kg (347 lbs)
Current weight: 155.9 kg (343.7 lbs)
Loss this week: 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs)
Overall loss: 22.9 kg (50.5 lbs)
Start BMI: 56.4
Last week's BMI: 49.7
Current BMI: 49.2
So that means I have broken through the 50 pound milestone. Which is amazing and cause for some celebration. Not only that, I am more than halfway through Phase II, with 7.1 kg to go to reach 30 kilograms and 2.1 kg to reach the 25 kg milestone.
Success builds on success.
My first weigh in of the month, on the third, I was 161.8 kg. That means I have lost 5.9 kg this month. This is particularly pleasing since last week returned results below 1 kg.
It's now a quarter of the way through the year. Perseverance pays off.

So for the first time in this whole journey, my weight loss is below 1 kg for the week. I'm not very happy about that. However, that is no reason to give up or give in. Rome wasn't built in a day. Slow and steady wins the race. And other proverbs that may help.

Routine
I feel a wee bit in a rut, blogging wise. I have my profile shots and my weigh-in days, and usually nothing more to say than that. After all, once you get into a routine in losing weight, there's not a lot to say. Especially when you have yet to start mixing things up with an exercise programme. Still I am proud of myself and I am constantly reflecting on my progress. Things seem to be a little easier now.

Profile shot 11
I went to the doctor today. I don't want to discuss why, but I'm fine. I took the opportunity to have my blood pressure checked. 125/80. Normal range, according to the Doc. Google says it's a little high. Not bad, just a "you could do better", I guess. I would hazard to say it was worse a couple of months ago.

I'm posting this from my ipad, so the formating is a little out of whack compared to my normal weigh in posts. Sorry about that. But look at those numbers. This week I find myself in the 150s. I don't ever want to be in the 160s ever again and I am glad I made my way through them relatively rapidly and without incident.
A two kilo loss in one week is excellent. It looks like I'm alternating between modest loss and major loss week by week. I'm one kilo away from the 20 kg milestone. Hopefully that will happen next Sunday. 10 weeks in and I am seeing rapid progress. I'm really pleased about that.

Goodness me. Even I am seeing significant change this week. I don't think there will be a huge loss marked on Sunday, but my body is shaping up nicely. My back is getting straighter. My bum is smaller, my moobs not quite so prominent. All good things.

More people noticing
I went to the pharmacy today to pick up my Xenical for the next four weeks and the pharmacist said she could notice my weight loss, which was very pleasing. Highlight of the day, really. Also I went to the Warehouse and bought a hoodie. I got a 6xl one about a month ago. This time around I got a 5xl one - so moving down the sizes is really good too. I have been trying on some old shirts with mixed success over the past few days. It's a bit frustrating because some 50 cm shirts do fit quite nicely and others can't get around the gut - even if they're the same clothing label. Oh well.

People noticing
I ran into someone at the supermarket today and she commented that I had lost weight. It made me very happy, she was someone who I hadn't told I was losing weight. On reflection, my sister may have mentioned it to her, though but I prefer to think she just noticed.

Dinner with the parents
So I went and had dinner at Mum and Dad's this evening. They know that I'm losing weight now, so there was some lean chicken, roast potatoes, corn on the cob, peas and a banana for dessert. It was a filling meal. They do like to eat early, though. I plan to snack on some dates later on, so it shouldn't be an issue for me.
I've got a afternoon/evening shift tomorrow, so I get the morning off. I'm going to have to be careful with dinner. I will want to eat a piece of fruit at 5 and then at 9 when I get home, I'll probably just have some baked beans on toast.

It's a little disheartening to experience such a big loss last week with just a single kilogram lost this week, when I haven't changed anything in my behaviour with food. I guess the body is weird like that. I should be pleased, though, it's a kilogram in the right direction. I did weigh myself on Wednesday morning and at that stage there was no movement. I had been stealing myself for a non-moving week, so in that way this kilogram is encouraging. Also I am now just 3 kilograms away from the 20 kg milestone.
